Built by "Mad King" Ludwig II and the inspiration for Disney's Sleeping Beauty Castle, this 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace is set against the backdrop of the Alps. After touring the castle, stop at the charming village of Oberammergau, famous for its once-a-decade Passion Play and skilled woodcarvers. Return to Munich in the late afternoon.
