Climate of Ladakh

Ladakh experiences an extreme high-altitude desert climate with dramatic temperature variations. Summers (June-September) are short but pleasant with daytime temperatures reaching 20-30°C while dropping to 5-10°C at night. Winters (October-May) are severe with temperatures plummeting to -20°C or lower, especially at night. Annual rainfall is minimal (less than 100mm), making Ladakh one of the driest inhabited regions in India. The thin atmosphere allows intense sunlight during daytime and rapid cooling after sunset throughout the year.
