After breakfast, embark on a full-day tour of Kuala Lumpur's highlights. Marvel at the iconic Petronas Twin Towers (external view), visit the National Monument, and photograph the impressive King's Palace. Experience the cultural diversity of Malaysia while exploring the vibrant districts of Little India and Chinatown. Visit the Sultan Abdul Samad Building with its distinctive Moorish architecture and Independence Square, where Malaysia's independence was declared. In the afternoon, journey to the sacred Batu Caves, ascending the colorful 272 steps to reach the temple cave housing Hindu shrines. The day concludes with a visit to the Central Market, an art deco building housing various crafts and souvenir shops. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay in Kuala Lumpur.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to Kuala Lumpur International Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah in Malaysian Borneo. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, proceed for a half-day city tour of Kota Kinabalu, visiting the State Mosque, Sabah Museum, and Signal Hill Observatory for panoramic views of the city and offshore islands. Visit the colorful handicraft market and Filipino Market along the waterfront to browse local products and souvenirs. The evening is free to explore the city's vibrant night markets and sample fresh seafood at the waterfront restaurants. Overnight in Kota Kinabalu.
After breakfast, embark on a full-day excursion to Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, a cluster of five islands with pristine beaches and coral reefs. Take a speedboat to visit two islands – perhaps Sapi and Manukan – where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling, and sunbathing. The crystal-clear waters offer excellent visibility to observe colorful coral gardens and tropical fish. A picnic lunch will be served on the island. Return to Kota Kinabalu in the late afternoon, with the evening free to relax or explore more of the city. Overnight in Kota Kinabalu.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and transfer to the airport for a short flight to Sandakan. Upon arrival, proceed directly to the world-famous Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Witness the morning feeding session where semi-wild orangutans swing through the trees to feeding platforms. Learn about conservation efforts to protect these endangered great apes. Next, visit the adjacent Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to observe the world's smallest bear species. After lunch at a local restaurant, check into your jungle resort. In the late afternoon, embark on a boat cruise along the Kinabatangan River, one of Borneo's most wildlife-rich waterways. Spot proboscis monkeys, macaques, hornbills, and perhaps wild orangutans and pygmy elephants if you're lucky. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in Sandakan.
Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and enjoy an early morning river cruise to catch wildlife at their most active period. Return to the lodge for breakfast before embarking on a guided jungle trek through the rainforest to learn about the ecosystem and spot wildlife. After lunch, visit the Gomantong Caves, famous for their edible birds' nests and as a filming location for BBC's Planet Earth. Witness the spectacular exodus of thousands of bats leaving the cave at dusk while birds of prey circle overhead. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in Sandakan.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and transfer to Sandakan airport for your flight to Kuching, the capital of Sarawak. Upon arrival, our representative will meet you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in, proceed for a half-day tour of Kuching, known as the "Cat City." Visit the Sarawak Museum, housing an excellent collection of ethnographic artifacts, the colorful Chinatown area, and the waterfront promenade along the Sarawak River. In the afternoon, visit the Sarawak Cultural Village, a living museum showcasing the diverse indigenous cultures of Borneo. Experience traditional homes of various ethnic groups including Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu. Enjoy a cultural performance featuring traditional music and dances. Return to Kuching for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping or exploration. At the appropriate time, transfer to Kuching International Airport for your departure flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of your Malaysian and Borneo adventure.
